A few words from Bruce
In January 2018 an approach was made to Ulf G. Ryder on my behalf with an unusual request: Will you let this guy Bruce Goodin (who you dont know) take Bäckatorps Danny V to Abu Dhabi to compete in the 5 star nations cup? And after a brave and generous yes, that was how our relationship started. After riding Bäckatorps Danny V four times at beutiful Bäckatorp Gård in Halmstad, we put him on the trailer and drove down to Liege airport in -8 degrees conditions to fly out to Abu Dhabi. After competing in two 1.45m classes to get to know him, we contested the Nations Cup where we helped New Zealand win its first ever Nations Cup. This was an incredible result considering Bäckatorps Danny V had never competed anywhere this level before and showed me the fantastic mentality he has. Because of this I was very keen to retain the ride on Danny and after negotiating a part ownership with Ulf G. Ryder and Bäckatorp Gård, Danny moved to my stable in early May 2018.
Bäckatorps Danny V has developed into my most successful horse ever and continues to improve. As previously mentioned he has a fantastic mentality for the sport. He can go into any arena in the world without being worried. Without being a ‘flashy jumper” he is incredibly clever and while being able to jump all the biggest 5 star classes, he is also very fast.
